Aalborg STAGE smashes alternative prices... AND complies with all loading and safety requirements!

Already the Aalborg Stage is better compliant with world loading and safety requirements than most. NOW Aalborg staging can be even better value.

Panels with hard wearing black emulsion coating on both sides, are ideal for most drama purposes. Tough trim panels protect vulnerable edges enabling use of MDF as an alternative to increasingly costly BB quality best Birch plywood.

These alternative panels are HALF the price in many countries.

Anthony Hill designed Aalborg staging from scratch with the Renfrew Group, following experience learned over 30 years running Anthony Hill Designs Ltd (t/as Stage Systems), and sold 5 years ago.

Please compare with ALL alternatives and if you find one better and less expensive we will compete. Our promise.

Anthony Hill's week long road trip to Denmark!

I first visited Aalborg in the North of Jutland as part of a travel scholarship tour to Denmark in 1958 says Anthony Hill. My next visit was in mid September 2011.

Aalborg is the name given to our range of postural furniture for schools, hospitals, office and factory workers amongst others. As we say, our products are ‘designed and made in Britain with influence from Denmark’, a country known for excellence in design and in education, and the birthplace of leading authority Dr. Chresten Mandal.

Over 50 years later it retains a charm and of course the famous distillery of Aalborg Akvavit. We have called ‘the spirit of education’, see photos above.

Just south of Aalborg is Hadsund and Hadsund School, a recent example from the renown designer Jens Guldbaek of Loop architects in Lyngby Copenhagen, famous for Hellerup School in Copenhagen and many more ground breaking schools which are having so large an influence on school design in Scandinavia and even as far as Melbourne in Australia.

Hadsund is a happy school, catering for pupils from early years to late teens and with facilities for all generations who want to learn, to play and enjoy its brilliant interactive facilities. See photos below.

In just one week I travelled over 2000 miles and left furniture samples and demonstration stage equipment with both customers and agents in Denmark, returning euphoric with a wonderful reception and increasing demand for our brand.

Find out more about how Aalborg furniture makes a real difference...

Since my first involvement as part of the ‘Education Committee’ for BackCare the charity promoting healthier backs and good posture, and our consequential financial support, a slow understanding has emerged of how bad posture, a lack of exercise and the carrying of too heavy back packs is causing real pain and consequential damage, some life long, to children as early as primary school age, much of it caused by bad school furniture.

Evidence shows a growing problem with children complaining of discomfort and the sort of pain stultifying concentration and learning. Teenagers and especially teenage girls are having not only their school life ruined but are increasingly in real pain.

Recent BackCare demonstrations reported in both the press and on TV serve to demonstrate areas of distress. Visit the 'Downloads' section of this site and read leaflets, written in association with world respected authorities on the subject. Also, visit the BackCare charity's own website  at www.www.backcare.org.uk for even more reports and background reading on the issue.

The consequences of poor seating especially from early years is detrimental to our learning, long-term health and to our comfort.

Workstation 'F' and 'V' (above) now on sale...

To complement the already developed and near to production Workstation 'V' (above left) a fixed height version (above right) without wheels will soon be available. Ideal as a space saving exam or classroom desk with a tilt surface and bag hook, both versions are not only robust, versatile and comfortable for students to sit at, they will also be priced to compete with conventional (and normally less robust and posturally incorrect) chairs and desks.

These eagerly anticipated additions to the Aalborg range can now be ordered for delivery before Christmas. Watch this space or join our Mailing List for updates.

Chair Links (above)
Connecting links are now available and can be permanently attached to one chair to avoid loose parts. These then snap onto the next for firm attachment.

New Stage Trims
New lightweight extruded aluminium trims will soon be available to mark stage edges and as an elegant attachment for drapes or facias.

Stage storage
Trolleys for transit or storage are simply built from a wheeled base. For small stages structure components can be stored in special bags which hang from wall or trolley pegs, saving valuable floor space and presenting the lightweight components simply for easy building by the young or elderly, all marked for easy recognition. Storage this way costs only a fraction of alternatives.

Moving displays... Or walls... Or counters...
Once you’ve used your stage for tiers or split level stages why not have fun and play. Apart from drama sets the units can be used for transit displays in shops or for exhibitions. Also de-mountable work surfaces can be made to suit a range of one off needs at work or in the home.

Floor coming very soon!
A sensational new design for dance, display or exhibition floors will soon be ready in a range of materials including beautiful bamboo.
